In our excitement to share the news that six Canadian service providers has started their certification of the HTC One’s Android 4.4 update, we missed the last item on the list which shows that the HTC One mini Android 4.4 build has been handed over to Rogers for certification as well. Since the AT&T HTC One mini in the US is still showing up with an “Integration” status on HTC’s list, Rogers’ customers could be the first to receive the KitKat build of Android for the HTC One mini. While we would like the update for the HTC One mini to be pushed out soon, HTC has stated that it has prioritized the update for the HTC One over all other devices. It will be interesting to see how things play out now that Rogers is not in control of the timeline.
As with the HTC One’s Android 4.4 update, the HTC One mini will come with Sense 5.5. We’ll be sure to share a complete list of new features on the HTC One mini’s Android 4.4 update is pushed out.
