The HTC One Android 4.4.2 update for carrier branded phones has commenced! SFR HTC One in France is the first carrier branded device to receive the OTA update, but we suspect more handsets will be lighting up with update notifications over the next few days. When Android 4.4 was unveiled, HTC announced that it would update the carrier branded devices to KitKat within 90 days – a deadline which expires at the end of January.
According to HTC’s Android 4.4 update page, US carrier branded versions of the HTC One are still in the Integration phase which means US service providers have not yet begun Certification Testing for the Android 4.4 update. With ten days to go before HTC’s self-imposed deadline is up, we’re hoping they are able to live up to their promise.
If you’re one of the lucky SFR HTC One owners, and have not yet received your Android 4.4. update, go to Settings > About Phone > System updates > Check now to manually ping the update servers. Everyone else… sit tights. Your Android 4.4 update should be here soon.
Update: It turns out, someone on SFR’s web team was a bit too excited and published the Android 4.4.2 update announcement a bit early. HTC and SFR are now saying that the Android 4.4.2 update for the HTC One is not yet available.
C'est une erreur @kristopheman, elle n'est pas encore en circulation même chez Sfr. Merci de votre patience. 😉

What are the changes? Somebody knows?
The update should be identical to what we’ve seen on the HTC One Developer Edition here in the US. Unfortunately, it looks like SFR’s web team didn’t actually wait for the update to be pushed out when they changed the text on their page. Hopefully it’ll go out OTA within the next few days.

Hi Nick,
Good day, Hope this isn’t a bother, since you have been blogging about HTC phones, do you happen to know any stable custom roms for HTC sensation xe?
Can you guide me on how to back up my present Rom (factory updated ) and how to install a custom Rom step by step on sensation xe ?
I’m a newbie and I was hoping there is still life for my sensation xe.
Thank you very much.
