After posting the official HTC One Android 4.3 changelog to its support site, Verizon has started pushing out the update to the phone. The update was originally promised for an October release, but carrier certification by Verizon seems to have taken a little longer than HTC had anticipated. Most of the tweaks are under the hood, but be sure to check out the full list of new features here. The update is being pushed out right now, but if you have not yet received the notification of your device, we recommend checking manually by going to Settings > About > Software updates > Check now on your HTC One.
Now that Android 4.3 for the Verizon HTC One is out, work on HTC’s side should be shifting to the Android 4.4 KitKat release which is currently scheduled for the first quarter of 2014.
Thank to @mattr01701 for the tip and image.
It’s odd that after I downloaded the update, the update never installed. When checking the status of my update, it says installed successfully. But my phone is still running 4.2.2
Edit: Had to restart the phone twice before the update prompted to install
I had to do the same thing. It downloaded and then did nothing. I checked update status and said successfully updated 12/18/13 but when I checked software still showed 4.2.2 I then restarted a couple of times and it prompted. Must be a glitch in the run software for the download. Hope it’s not a sign that there are other glitches in the software.
I know it’s not regarding the HTC One but this also happened to my wife’s HTC DNA with the new update. I had to restart the phone to get the update promp.
Must be something to do with Verizon’s delivery system.
