With an import ban against the HTC One mini in place, HTC has announced its intention to appeal the court’s ruling. While the ban is currently only keeping the HTC One mini out of the UK, court documents show that 70% of HTC phones sold in the UK do feature chips which infringe on Nokia’s patents.
HTC is preparing for the worst by talking to its chip suppliers to see what workarounds may be possible. HTC has faced import bands in the past due to software patent issues, so it will be interesting to see how HTC may have to change internal hardware components in order to circumvent Nokia’s patents.
“We have filed an urgent application to appeal. In the meantime, we are working with our chip suppliers to explore alternative solutions.”

I just moved from an IPhone 4S to a HTC One .. and what an error this has been. The phone is clunky when compared to IPhone; but the biggest issue was their terrible customer service – the “Help” was … well just follow the screen prompts. But the prompts did not work so they suggested that they send me a manual – this is poor service
