HTC is working hard to set the bar as top manufacturer to release software updates in a timely manner and the Android 4.3 update hitting the HTC Butterfly S right before Christmas comes to us with open arms. In the past, HTC received high remarks for supporting its devices out on the market, but then they fell a little behind after deploying a wide mix of devices to the world. After some changes in the organization, HTC USA’s new president, Jason MacKenzie has turned to Twitter as a banner to announce when to look for software updates on HTC products.
The HTC Butterfly S was released earlier this year and this would be the first major update to hit the international model.

HTC’s software update 2.21.708.1 for the HTC Butterfly S weighs in at approximately 746 MB’s and brings the device up to Android software version 4.3. with HTC Sense version 5.5. The Android update from version 4.2 has Google updates that may feel unnoticeable and aren’t even highlighted in the release notes. It’s all the enhancements HTC has made to the user interface and camera software that take the stage, front and center. The editing features for post processing are nice additions and the ability to add new feeds like HTC Source to BlinkFeed on the homescreen is also a welcomed new feature.
Users of this device should receive the update over the air and if your phone hasn’t detected it yet go to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check Now.
