Vodafone Australia has inadvertently revealed HTC’s intention to release an Android 4.2.2 update with Sense 5.5 for the HTC One X. The information comes from Vodafone’s blog which tracks the status of the software updates for its phones. The latest update to the blog post added details for the next HTC one X update, claiming the Android 4.2.2 update with Sense 5.5 is being prepped by HTC and will soon be submitted to Vodafone for testing.
Vodafone has not included any dates with the update, so we do not know when HTC will hand the code over for testing or what the final roll out if planned. While we would have liked to see the HTC One X receive the same Android 4.3 update with Sense 5.5 that’s being prepped for the HTC One, it’s nice to know the HTC one X will at least receive one more software update.
Update: we have received word from HTC that the information on Vodafone’s site is not correct. No official statement on the matter was released, but it looks like someone at Vodafone mistakenly types 5.5 instead of 5.0.
