In an internal HTC email, CEO Peter Chou announced: “Effective immediately, in addition to his current duties in supporting me with global corporate strategy, Jason Mackenzie will lead HTC America.” Jason Mackenzie previously led HTC’s American operations from 2010-2011 but has since been working as the company’s global marketing sales lead.
With Jason Mackenzie taking over HTC America, “Mike Woodward will lead Emerging Devices, a newly established business unit that will focus on innovative new HTC products and global distribution strategies.” Woodward, a former AT&T executive, has help the position as president of HTC North America since the summer of 2012. The internal email does not go into detail regarding that the newly created “Emerging Devices” unit within HTC will do, but we’re expecting either a new category of products or new halo devices as HTC looks to merge the One and Butterfly brands in 2014.
