HTC has reported NT$19.6bn ($660 million USD) unaudited consolidated revenue for the month of April, a 23.6% increase over revenue numbers from March, marking it the company’s best month so far in 2013. Total revenue for the first four months of the year sits at NT$62.4bn, with 31.4% of which is attributed to the last month. While it’s encouraging to see the effect of the HTC One starting to have an impact on HTC’s bottom line, the company’s revenue numbers for the month of April did come in 34.6% lower than the NT$30bn ($1.2 billion USB) HTC posted in April of 2012.
The increased revenue be attributed to the launch of the HTC One, but we should expect to see revenue numbers for May to climb even higher as HTC has projected NT$70 billion ($2.73 billion USD) in revenue for the second quarter.
From what we’ve seen for far, we are expecting the success of the HTC One to keep HTC profitable in Q2 and help grow its bottom line throughout the rest of the year. What’s your take? Do you think the HTC One will allow the company to meet or exceed its Q2 projections?
