It looks like fans in China will not only have a shot at the glorious HTC One, but also a mid-range model currently named HTC 608T. We’re not sure what the market is like in China, but we’re willing to bet there are tons of off-brand look-alike phones as well as leading competitors out there to go against and if the HTC One is too much phone for you then here’s another option.
The HTC 608T registered with some sort of tech industry office before properly making an introduction on the China market. The following specs have been listed to be on board the new phone and while the full details regarding the phones insides are not available we’ll speculate a little for you below.
- Quad-Core processor
- 4.5″ qHD display (540 x 960 pixels)
- Android 4.1.2 (most likely with Sense 5)
- 8 MP rear camera (sorry, no UltraPixels here)
- 1.6 front camera
- 1 GB of RAM
- Dual front facing speakers
- Beats Audio
- 2-button layout
Like we mentioned in the specs, this phone will more than likely have the Sense 5 user interface which is a plus, but we don’t have an indication if the phone will come with the ImageSense 2 chip for image processing. Even if it does, we’re not sure how it will perform with a non-UltraPixel shooter or what special features it will be able to take advantage of. Will you still be able to create those awesome Zoe’s and share them via HTC Share? How about the red eye removal and face contouring features?
We know that HTC isn’t standing by waiting to see how well the HTC One is going to do and we know that other HTC phones will be released this year so we’re not surprised to see the One inspiring other phones heading to international markets. Do you think a phone of these makings would do well in the US market? What would a solid mid-range phone be in your eyes?
