HTC has started taking pre-orders of the HTC One Developer Edition. The phone is priced at $649.99 and features 64GB of internal storage, unlocked SIM and unlocked bootloader. The limited edition phone is only available to customers with a US zip code. HTC is not divulging how many units it plans on selling, but we have a suspicion that the HTC One Developer Edition will sell out long before its April 19th ship date.
Be sure to leave us a comment below to let us know if you’re planning on buying the HTC One Developer Edition or if you’re going to go with a subsidized HTC one from your service provider. We’re still not sure which way we’re planning to go, but there’s something really appealing about getting a limited edition developer device directly from HTC.
Update: It seems like HTC store is having some issues. we were finally able to order the phone while using our HTC One S. we suggest trying different computers if you’re not able to complete the checkout process or there’s the option of calling 1-866-416-3059 and placing the order over the phone. Good luck!
Update 2: HTC has emaield everyone who has pre-registered for the HTC One through htc.com with a promo code (3F27736D83) which will get you a free HTC One Double Dip or Double Dip Flip case when you pre-order the HTC One Developer Edition, Sprint, T-Mobile or unlocked 32GB model through htconeprereg.com. If you have already placed your order for the phone, you will need to cancel it and re-order through the website since they can not apply the promo code after the purchase and it can not be applied to purchases over the phone (we learned this the hard way).
On a more positive note, HTC has confirmed to us that the $100 HTC One trade-up promotion does apply to the HTC One Developer Edition.

Well, I don’t really know what the dev edition really shows, btw does it work like the internacional version? I mean by its sim unlocked and bootloader.
I ordered mine 🙂
Yes it is unlocked but they won’t accept any credit card other than US issued.
guys if we order this now will it be able to run on T-Mobile out of the box? i’m reading it’ll run only on Edge (2G) until the LTE is up and running. Is this true?
Yes and no. It will run on HSPA+ in areas which have been re-farmed to use 1900 as T-Mobile clean things up to roll out LTE. Airportal.de lists areas which have seen T-mobile HSPA+ 1900 network re-farming. Keep in mind that the locations shown on the amp are reported by T-Mobile users (mainly people using an AT&T iPhone on T-Mobile’s network), not T-Mobile.
all this incentive and yet nothing in the UK
I’ve still not got mine and I ordered 4 weeks ago
thanks Nick, I am going to wait until I can buy it from T-Mobile officially. what really as me pissed off is that i can’t get the 64gb model for T-Mo because of that stupid “exclusivity” deal with AT&T…
Hey Any Man. I too had my eyes set on the 64GB model, but the sad thing is T-Mobile decided not to carry this model. AT&T is claiming exclusivity simply because they were the only carrier bold enough to add it to their portfolio.
I think the free flip cover offer not avialble for new pre orders , is it true ?/ please confirm….
Both the HTC One Double Dip and Double Dip Flip cases are available with the code listed above. You need to add either of the cases to your cart and then apply the promo code at checkout.
