HTC First with Facebook Home can now be purchased from AT&T. The HTC First is prices at $449.99, though it can be purchased for as little as $99.99 with a new two-year contract. The HTC First is available in black, white, pale blue and red, giving consumers the option to choose the color which best suited for their style. Specs on the HTC First include a 1.4 GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8930AA processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 4.3-inch 720p display (342 ppi), 5 megapixel camera with BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens, 1.6 MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor (ultrawide angle), GPS, Beats Audio, and a 2,000 mAh battery.
While the specs of the HTC First put the device in the mid-range category these days, the software on the device is what truly sets the phone apart from its competitors. On the surface, the HTC First comes pre-loaded with Facebook Home – a new homescreen replacement app which sits on top of Android. Facebook Home delivers a fully-integrated Facebook experience on the homescreen of the HTC First with beautiful notification updates from your friends and seamless sms and Facebook messaging.
If you’re not into the whole Facebook Home thing, you can always turn off Facebook’s software which in turn delivers a stock Android 4.1 experience on the phone. The HTC First isn’t running on the latest and greatest version of stock Android, but it is the only stock Android device in the US which is fully compatible with AT&T’s LTE network.
Do you think the HTC First with Facebook Home will be a success?
