Design overview of the HTC One in an interview with Scott Croyle VP of Design

Last week at the biggest annual international mobile event, Mobile World Congress a talented writer with Engadget scored an interview with Scott Croyle, the VP of Design for HTC. Scott dives into the efforts for designing the HTC One and the magic they made with the best uni-body chassis we have seen to date, from any manufacturer. I feel that I can say any manufacturer, because although Apple has a nicely constructed phone some of the challenges they could not overcome, like antenna interference when holding it wrong or the fragile rear glass surface have been defeated with the HTC One.

The design team at HTC has gone the extra mile and has planned to break the tradition of the pieced-together phone for a long time. As described in the recorded interview linked at the bottom of the article,  Mr. Croyle explains that it was all a matter of asking the right questions to the their engineers and figuring out how to join such antennas like WiFi, Bluetooth, Cellular radios, GPS and anything else screaming for some waves while communicating over thinly molded into place plastic strips on the back of the body. To do this, HTC takes a solid piece of aluminum and sends it through a machining process that gives it smooth edges and precisely placed holes for a seamless look and feel. Then small slivers of plastic slide in to offer an outlet to the outside world. The team took the design outside of the box and challenged engineers to open up to the concepts that may have sounded too complex, but in the long run opened other possibilities leading to the awesome creation we can’t wait to spend our hard earned money on.

Aside from the brilliant design, the interview covers the creative workings with Zoe, a visual gallery that comes to life as you stare at it. A Zoe is a small video stream or set of pictures taken simultaneously to add a story to pictures taken with the Ultrapixel camera.

We have also included a video from the HTC Blog showing how meticulous the process can be to create each HTC One from a solid block of aluminum. HTC may contract other parts from external sources, but the chassis making business is done so well we wouldn’t be surprised if other manufacturers came to HTC for help!

Where would you rank HTC in build quality among other smartphone manufactures?

  1. The One will have the highest build quality of any phone out there but it does make me wonder: if the process is so laborious, will HTC be able to keep up with demand? I’ve heard some crazy numbers for the minutes it takes to machine just one of these chassis so I’m curious how HTC will scale up production while maintaining quality.

  2. These services should also be able to provide 24
hours technical support to the customers. A VPS
is an in between option of Shared Hosting and Dedicated
Server Hosting. Migrating from shared hosting and high price of dedicated server is not for you, VPS hosting is the right solution then.

  3. For instance, Facebook Advertising allows users to have their ads
featured in the sidebar. People tell you that you should
try and go into business for yourself so that you can be
your own boss and make your own hours. Linux VPS has been increasingly chosen as a basic hosting plan hosting services over which were currently available on the market.

  4. You may consult or do various small jobs yourself, driving or
landscaping. Whatever jobs you apply for there will always be
some standard interview questions. If you eliminate skills and
information that are relevant to a particular job,
you may be inadvertently putting yourself out of the running.

  5. The term “action” is generally defined as a purchase or a subscription of
an offer by a customer. Of course you’re going to want to
link that to your redirect. However, even with the best Affiliate Marketing Network, something goes wrong but
with a network of partners will be allocated affiliate manager who will help you sort out any problems encountered.
