Last year HTC rebranded the online service HTCSense.com to the newly named HTC Get Started and introduced us to some cool remote configuration tools. Until the announcement of the HTC One, users from the United States were unable to take advantage of HTC Get Started, but other countries like Taiwan have had more than a handful of HTC smartphones like the HTC One S (special edition), HTC One X+, and the HTC Butterfly each supported on multiple carriers.
The good news for fans in the US is the HTC One for Sprint and T-Mobile will be the first models to work along with HTC Get Started. The bad news is that AT&T has once again blocked users on its network from taking advantage of another useful service by HTC that allows users to change wallpapers, audio notifications, themes, the lockscreen, and more. Users can also add or remove applications and bookmarks.
Once changes are made to your account using the online tool, a configuration file is pushed to your smartphone and appears in the notification bar waiting for your action to implement the changes. Before this can work, you will have to sync your HTC account on your phone and go through the setup process on the website.
Since we last checked in with HTC Get Started, the service is now available in 17 more countries totaling 41 countries overall.
