It’s official, HTC will be unveiling its next flagship phone on February 19th at 10am in New York City. The invitation to the event (which just landed in our inbox about 30 minutes ago) does not appear to feature any hidden clues about the upcoming phone, but there’s little doubt that we’ll be seeing the HTC M7 in exactly three weeks. The fact that the HTC M7 will be unveiled in New York is a huge indication that HTC will be making the U.S. market a huge priority this time around.
If all the rumors are to be believed, the HTC M7 will feature a 4.7-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm’s latest quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera and redesigned HTC Sense 5.
The 10am press event isn’t unusual for HTC, but we have a feeling that the timing is set up perfectly so that HTC can host a simultaneous launch event for the HTC M7 in London. If we hear of anything, we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
Update: we just got confirmation from HTC that they will also be hosting a press event in London on the same day. Look like February 19th will be a huge day for HTC around the globe.
Dont forget the 32GB internal!
“The fact that the HTC M7 will be unveiled in New York is a huge indication that HTC will be making the U.S. market a huge priority this time around.”
Well, they already made the US a huge priority market with the DNA (US version of the Butterfly) and not releasing that in Europe (or more importantly for me: The Netherlands)
I’m still hoping for the Butterfly to make it here. I’m going to blow a fuse if they screw us over with the M7 and not release it here. The London press event gives me some hope, but have to see it to believe it.
Although hTC m7 has already come to the final step and the aluminium front and plastic back cover have already leaked out,I still hope hTC m7 will come with a SD card slot.
As hTC held two events, hTC m7 may come with two versions with sightly difference.
This is my own opinions only!
The original EVO 4G design is perfect. Charging port on bottom, removable battery, hdmi, and the very important feature of removable storage. Why they take these things away? Good for new hardware & faster specs but keep taking away features & design aspects plus keep moving button layout so annoying.
I’m glad there’s a new phone coming out soon but I don’t like the 4.7 inch display. I think it’s a little too big and some people prefer smaller phones. I understand that a smaller phones can have fewer specifications but it’d be nice if they tried.
