Taiwan is homeland to HTC headquarters and since the smartphone manufacturer is a technology leader there it is no surprise that residents are rewarded with modified flagship smartphones for purchase. This time Taiwan will have the opportunity to buy a modified HTC One S.
How has it been modified, you ask? Starting with the exterior, the shell has been dyed white to look more like its big brother, the HTC One X and has a red ring around the camera. On the inside you won’t find much of the hardware modified until you boot this phone up to check the 64 gigs of internal storage! Also while booting users will notice the new HTC One S comes with Android 4.1 pre-installed and all the expected software tid bits we are anticipating when Jelly Bean hits other HTC smartphones like HTC’s latest user interface Sense 4+.
While we most likely will not get our hands on one of these babies it is refreshing to see that HTC is looking to add more internal memory to new handsets and we should expect to see more than 16 GB on phones without removable storage as it has been one of the biggest drawbacks for customers. The full retail price for the version of the HTC One S in the United States is $599 so for $20 more that is a pretty good price to get all that extra memory.
