Windows Phone app for Windows 8 shows up in Windows Store

With only hours to go before Microsoft’s final Windows Phone 8 press event, Microsoft has published its Windows Phone app for Windows 8 to the Windows Store. The application allows users to sync music, pictures, videos and more between their phone and computer, displays how much storage is available on the handset and also enabled media sharing from your mobile device with other Windows 8 applications.

If you’re a proud owner of a Windows Phone 7.8 device, you can download the app for Windows 8 now and start enjoying it. The rest of us waiting for HTC’s new Windows Phone 8 devices will have to wait a few more weeks, but we are hoping HTC’s carrier partners will announce when the HTC 8X and HTC 8S will launch during or after Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 press event scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
