According to a new rumor, AT&T employees have already started sales training on the HTC 8X in preparation for the November launch. The tipster also claims that there is evidence that AT&T may have plans to release both an 8GB and 16GB version of the phone, giving consumers two storage options at varying price points.
Since AT&T has yet to release any concrete information about the pricing of the HTC 8X, it’s hard to say what consumers will be charged. We can make the assumption that the 16GB HTC 8X will sell for $199.99 with a new two year contract, but we can’t really see AT&T chopping off $50 to get the price of the 8GB HTC 8X to $150. In our mind, if you can’t cut the price by $50 and show a value distinction to the customer, you might as well not even try.
In less than two weeks, Microsoft is planning to do its final unveiling of Windows Phone 8. Hopefully AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile will join in on the momentous occasion and finally reveal when they plan to start selling the HTC 8X and the HTC 8S.
