The HTC 8X from AT&T is up for pre-order at Best Buy. The price of the Windows Phone 8 powered HTC 8X is set at $99.99 with a two-year contract, but you spend up to $599.99 if you’re looking to get your hands on the HTC 8X with no strings attached. To be honest, we’re a bit surprised to see AT&T’s price of the HTC 8X set at $99.99, but we have a feeling it will help HTC and Microsoft put Windows Phone 8 on the map. We’ve been assuming that the 16GB HTC 8X would sell for $199.99.
The HTC 8X sports a Qualcomm S4 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch 1280×720 super LCD 2 display with a 341ppi density, optical lamination and Gorilla Glass along with 16GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, NFC, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFI a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5GHz) and a 1,800 mAh battery. The HTC 8X also features all the same camera optics as the HTC One X and One S with an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash, BSI sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and 28mm lens.
While Best Buy is willing to take your money in order to guarantee you an HTC 8X at launch, they are not willing to reveal when the handset is expected to ship. HTC and its carrier partners are expected to reveal all launch details for the HTC 8X on October 29th when Microsoft finally unveils the remaining details on Windows Phone 8.
