The HTC Proto rumor from last week is getting a little more clear. New pictures posted on The Verge show off the shell of the device which looks verysimilar to the HTC Desire V which launched is China earlier this summer. The HTC Proto is expected to replace the HTC One V with a slight spec bump which includes a 4-inch WVGA display, 1GH dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 5MP camera.
We previously assumed that the HTC Proto would be adorned with a slightly larger ani-body aluminum shell (like the HTC One V), but we’re glad to see HTC is bringing the design of the Desire V to the European market as well. Since the HTC Proto features still don’t match those of the HTC One S, we expect the off-contract price of this device to be around $350. There’s no saying when HTC will actually bring the HTC Proto to market, but the handset could be unveiled at IFA sometime next week.
