Today in Greece, the Olympic torch began its journey to London to where the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron will signify the start the 2012 Summer Olympics. The running of the torch is a great honor and on July 6th, HTC CEO Peter Chou will be given this distinguished opportunity. Mr. Chou stated “every step I take will represent my deepest support for Taiwan’s athletes attending the London 2012 Olympic Games.”
Taiwan News reports that the CEO of the Taiwanese-based company was selected because of his great contribution to the development of the global mobile industry development, leadership in Taiwan’s technology industry, and role in bringing a Taiwan brand to the international market.
I’m glad to see him given this wonderful opportunity.
