We’ve known for a while that the HTC Sensation would be the first HTC phone to be updated to Android 4.0, but it’s still exciting to learn that the update is being pushed out right now. Before you get too excited, we’re only hearing reports that the update is being pushed out to HTC Sensation and Sensation XE owners in Germany and a few northern European countries, but if our sources are correct we should see the update hit handset owners in France and the UK within the next few days.
Our sources indicate that HTC will be rolling the update out in waves across Europe (which should take 2-3 weeks to complete) with T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G owners slotted in on the calendar for the second half of March. There are a lot of people out there who doubt HTC’s ability to roll out the update so quickly in the US, but our source has made it clear that the service providers who have phones which will receive the Android 4.0 update in the next weeks and months have been testing the software for quite some time.
Like many of you, we’ll remain skeptical until we actually see the update hit our HTC Sensation 4G, but HTC has not given us any reason to doubt their announced March release of the update.
