HTC Ville handset render shows off amazingly thin 8mm body

Anyone remember the HTC Ville and the leaked specs we were treated to a few weeks back? Now we’re getting our first look at the HTC Ville’s design with some renders of the handset which were leaked to PocketNow. The HTC Ville is said to feature a uni-body aluminum shell which should be a hair shy of 8mm thick, making it the thinnest device ever made by HTC. The other notable feature shown off in the image is the Ville’s wrap around 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display which gives the front of the device smooth edges along its sides.

The HTC Ville is expected to be powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor, with an 8MP BI sensor capable of 1080p video capture, Android 4.0, HTC Sense 4.0, and a 1650 mAh battery to keep the Ville up and running for at least a day.

We are still expecting HTC to unveil the HTC Ville at Mobile World Congress next February and could see the phone launch on European carriers as early as April of next year. The specs of the HTC Ville are nice, but we’re betting that many of you have your eyes set on the upcoming HTC Edge and its quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 4.7-inch 720p display. Which HTC phone will you be buying next year?

  1. another weekly design by HTC. Just keep in mind tha after a few months HTC STOP PROVIDING SUPPORT AND PARTS TO YOUR PHONE and tell you to go to the internet to find a replacement.

  2. @asks I’ve been buying HTC phone for a half decade and have never experienced any support issues. HTC’s warranty is for a full 12 months and they have always provided support for their handsets even after they stop selling them.

  3. @Nick Gray How is HTC for you in terms of performance? I’m really interested with the phone but Iike to hear more from the actual users themselves. I’m an avid HTC fan but only as a reader sadly.

    1. @gus The S4 chip in the HTC Ville should but current dual-core processors to shame. The battery life will increase and 3D gaming will see a huge bump. HTC’s handset performance has lagged a little bit this year since they chose to stick things out with Qualcomm’s dual-core S3 chips which don’t perform on the same level as NVIDIA’s Tegra 2. But that doens’t mean they perform poorly. HTC’s current generation of dual-core and single core phones are able to play the most taxing 3D games available for Android.

  4. i’m really looking forward to the official launch of HTC Ville.. i really like how it looks and the specs that come with it.. been looking for a good HTC phone with super AMOLED screen and interested in finally getting to try ice cream sandwich! although Edge’s quad core would be awesome, dual core would already do for me! planning to buy one, depending on how it fares as soon as it is released! definitely keeping my eyes on this one.
