The on-again off-again Gingerbread update for the HTC Thunderbolt is… on-again. Verizon has re-started pushing out the Android update to the Thunderbolt after fixing the issue which handset owners started complaining about when the original update started to trickle out a few weeks back. Verizon will be pushing out the Android 2.3 update to phones is different waves so that they can watch for any issues along the way.
The HTC Thunderbolt has been plagues with bugs and poor battery life since its launch and it seem like consumers have not been pleased with the way HTC and Verizon have managed the update process for the device. We hope the new update fixes a lot of the issues that the Thunderbolt had and can help restore consumer confidence in Verizon’s first 4G LTE handset.
If you’re the type who doesn’t like to wait around for updates, you can manually trigger the download process on your own. From the home screen press Menu > Settings > Software Update > Check Now. Let us know how the download and installation process goes and feel free to share your thoughts about the update and if it makes the phone any better.
