This morning, Sprint finally announced the launch of the HTC EVO Design 4G. The latest member of the EVO family will launch on October 23 and the price has been set at $99.99 with a new two-year contract. HTC EVO 3D owners have nothing to fear with the new EVO Design since its specs are targeted toward customers who like something powerful but would rather have a phone at a good price rather than paying extra to have cutting edge features.
The HTC EVO Design 4G is the first phone with the EVO name to support global roaming with CDMA, WiMax, and GSM capabilities, making it one of the only real Android options for Sprint’s customers who frequently travel overseas. The specs on the Design 4G won’t turn any heads, but the 4-inch qHD display and 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor and 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera definitely put the phone a step or two above the mid-range Android handsets that are currently available for $100.
