We only have about a week and a half before the HTC Amaze goes on sale, so we thought we’d share some SpeedTest numbers and Quadrant benchmark scores we came across this morning. The Amaze 4G is the first HTC device to ship with a chip capable of taking advantage of T-Mobile’s 42 Mbps HSPA+ 4G network speeds. Since the 42 Mbps speeds are only theoretical, we know that the HTC Amaze 4G’s download speeds wouldn’t even come close to those numbers. As expected, the video shows the Amaze 4G nearly reaching 15 Mbps. Those numbers aren’t even close the download speeds achieved by the HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, but they do surpass what we typically see on Sprint’s 4G WiMax network.
Benchmark scores with Quadrant put the Amaze 4G at the top of chart when compared to other dual-core powered HTC devices. The Amaze 4G produces a Quadrant score of 2,477, nearly 10% higher than the 2,100-2,200 averages produces by the HTC Sensation 4G.
We know that SpeedTest numbers and benchmark scores don’t really reflect how most consumers use their phones, but they do allow us to quickly see what the phones are capable of. By simply looking at the numbers, the HTC Amaze 4G will be the fastest and most powerful HTC device on T-Mobile’s network this fall.

you must always run quadrant AT LEAST 2 times
other runs have much higher scores than the first one
When we do Quadrant scores we always re-run the test 5 or 6 times to see what the average is before we start recording. For now, this is all we have to go off of, but we will be doing our own independent testing if HTC sends us a demo unit.
Why fl they never show the fps when running the graphics test? Show us how the gpu runs.
