Video: HTC EVO 3D Demo

The Evo 3D is widely available on a few continents under different guises. Codenamed the Shooter, the HTC EVo 3D’s only real competitor in this niche is the LG Optimus 3D. It’s a rather strange realm to populate and the idea of a glasses less 3D display and the ability to shoot 3D pictures/video are it’s forte. Behind all that, the EVO 3D is a super powerful smartphone. The Evo has a 4.3” qHD display, 1.2 GHz dual core processor, and 1GB of RAM which make it slightly better than the HTC Sensation. The EVO 3D’s dual megapixel cameras allow the phone to capture 3D images and video. It’s still a market that seems more of a fad rand the fact that there is a slider on the side of the phone to turn the 3D on/off says there is not a constant need for it. I’m still not sold on the whole 3D thing and it seems to have arrived as fast as it’s being overlooked. While I’ve been hands on with the device, I’ve not had untethered access or any great amount of time to really assess the phone as a phone, So anytime I find a good look at the Evo 3D I find myself pinned to it. Unboxings.com has a wide range of hands on looks that are really thorough, and technically correct.

It’s a fairly standard Android setup, but you will notice HTC Watch is included in the Sense interface, basically an embedded app. Of course there are all the old HTC favourites.

We see a lot of personal features that every day users will deem important, with the 3D taking a back seat. The Evo 3D is primarilary a smartphone, which can be forgotten, overshadowed by the bling that is 3D. It’s a different to see the phone touted with the 3D kept well in the background.
