With the Windows Phone “Mango” update now rumoured to roll out on September 15, which WPCentral say they have in good confidence, from a well placed development company that makes apps for Windows Phone, Android and iOS devices, that the Mango release would be delayed
“The (omitted) Windows dev team has just learned that Mango is delayed until September 15th.”
That coupled with some information from a Chinese chat with a forum member and HTC customer service rep, and they conclude the date seems likely. Insert grain of salt here! While that was going on we’ve all been waiting for the HTC event in London that we think will announce the HTC Omega and Eternity. Seems the HTC Eternity has gained FCC verification right before it’s big unveil. We really haven’t seen much of the Eternity, except for a render back in late June from a German website.
It’s hard to get the scale of the device from the image, but the Eternity is meant to be a 4.7” AMOLED packing phone, rumoured to have a 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It’s also expected to have a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera. We still don’t know much more than that, except that it passed through the FCC with flying colours. It’s the HTC PI39910.
Still nothing on costs, or when it will be available, or where, although you would have to tip it for European release considering we expect it to be announced in London any time now.
