Best Buy drops price of HTC Flyer to $299 on October 1

While we have two Android tablet options available from HTC, the price point for each device have been the main reason behind slow sale figures.  HTC and retailers have been pretty quiet about actual sales numbers, but we have a really strong feeling that things haven’t been going so well.

Despite running on Android 2.3 with a single-core processor, the HTC Flyer has received some pretty good reviews.  If the $499 price point at Best Buy has been keeping you away, you should be more than ecstatic to learn that Best Buy will be dropping the price of the HTC flyer to $299 starting October 1.

The official press release from Best Buy does not mention the HTC Scribe digital pen, so we’re assuming you’ll need to buy it separately.  If you don’t want to pay the $79.99 Best Buy is asking for it, you can always get Digital Pen from Amazon for $56.99.

I know most of you will probably wait for the Honeycomb update to hit the HTC Flyer, but I plan on going to Best Buy to buy the Flyer as soon as I sell my Acer Iconia A500.
