One of the things I discovered in the 7720 RTM, even though it’s not released yet, was something I didn’t expect to find. In the games hub your avatar is now more interactive. We know avatars would previously respond to music playing, and occasionally it would get flipped a Windows Phone, but there’s a lot more finesse involved. WP Down Under reported the official notification of changes to XBL today, and there are a lot of add on’s coming with the Mango update. What is probably key to the Windows Phone Blog post, today doesn’t really equate until you see some of it in action. I think this is novelty value only, but then again it demonstrates the lengths Microsoft will go to create an immersive gaming experience for XBOX across all platforms it is supported on. The Video below is not great, taken with my Mozart, of what the avatar will do and react to on the HTC HD7. It’s new though and I think a first look at one change to the Games Hub in Windows Phone Mango. While this is OS focused, the changes Microsoft are making for it’s next major upgrade are getting incredibly deep.
As trivial as this may seem, it actually displays the depth to which Microsoft are ready to go to make all aspects of the Windows Phone experience as full featured as possible.
