Itching to update you your Facebook status with the new HTC Status from AT&T? The wait is almost over. As of today, new and existing AT&T customers can pre-order the HTC Status, but you’ll have to wait about a week before the phone actually launches. HTC and AT&T plan on releasing the new Facebook phone on July 17th. The price of the HTC Status is set at $49.99 with a new two year contract when you sign up for a qualifying data plan.
The spec sheet on the HTC Status isn’t the most impressive, but the phone does features a 2.6-inch touch screen with a 480 x 320 resolution, 800 MHz processor, 512 MB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, front-facing VGA camera (so you can change your Facebook profile picture are often as you want), and a 1250 mAh battery to keep those status updates coming all day long.
We doubt many of you are really interested in the HTC Status, but it’s certainly an interesting phone for HTC’s 2011 lineup. Who knows, if Google Plus takes off we could see HTC push out a phone with a dedicated G+ button.
