It’s certainly a sad day for HTC. We have just learned that has resigned from his position as Chief Innovation Officer at HTC. While this news is new to us and the technology community, HTC revealed that Horace Luke resigned from HTC back in April, citing personal reasons. When many of us think of HTC, the face that typically comes to mind is that of Peter Chou, but Luke has been the real driving force behind HTC’s innovation for the past few years. Horace Luke joined HTC in 2006 and helped the company emerge from the shadows with phones like the HTC Touch and HTC Diamond. We’re sure Luke’s replacement will do an amazing job and continue to push the envelope in the years to come.
Horace Luke, HTC’s chief innovation officer, has left HTC for personal reasons. Horace nurtured a culture of innovation at HTC and instilled a strong consumer design-focus among our employees who continue to raise the bar in designing products that capture our customers’ imagination. We are grateful for Horace’s many contributions to HTC and wish him well in his future endeavors. Scott Croyle, HTC’s vice president of design, has taken over Horace’s responsibilities and will continue a tradition of design innovation at HTC.
