Official Tool released for “Walshed” Phones.

SO today should herald the end of the whole Chevron.Updater saga, with developer Chris Walsh, releasing a Microsoft approved fix, for the initial tool he published. On it’s release today, hopefully we are over one of the greatest exploits Windows Phone will see in it’s short life.

With the existence of an update I was able to further test my tool on how phones would behave with future updates.  Which led me to realise, in CERTAIN scenarios phones wouldn’t update, but yet others would.  Which led to the creation of this tool.  This tool has been tested by Brandon and his team and I have approval to release it to users for use

From the comments on the post by Walsh, the main thing seems to be running the tool as an administrator if you are on Windows 7. If you have a Samsung device you may not necessarily receive the 7.0.7392 update immediately, as the Samsung update is still on hold because of firmware problems. Otherwise initial reports are good for the success of the tool. You can download it HERE
