A new advert has emerged from HTC, that apparently points to a new generation of devices from the OEM, with super High Resolution cameras. Add the fact that the ad mentions Windows Phone 7, we have a quandary. The two rumoured upcoming Windows Phones, the HTC Ignite, and the HTC Mazaa. The Ignite is rumored to feature an 800 MHz Snapdragon processor with a 3.7-inc hdisplay 512 MB of RAM, 5 megapixel camera. The HTC Prime features all the same internal specifications as the HTC Ignite with the added bonus of featuring a slide-out QWERTY keyboard..
If you look at the renders of the Ignite, that we saw about a month ago, the similarity to the Mazaa is uncanny, although it also appears very similar to the Trophy and the Mozart as well. What you have to wonder at is how HTC would fit a 16 Megapixel camera sensor into these slimline devices?
It’s an interesting concept, but I find my self wondering if a specialist phone like this would sell, or just service a small niche market? We know that Microsoft have changed their minimum specifications for hardware, rumoured specs for the Ignite fit with that news, but how would current hardware service a shooter like that. I wonder if this is just a case of one upmanship, the whole bigger is better mentality from HTC? [Also notice the narrator in the video has an Australian accent!]

I don’t think you’d find someone going to all that trouble wtih the animated video if it was just a rumour. It may just be internal marketing for HTC, to pump up it’s designers and tech guys, when someone else has already done a phone with a 14 megapixel camera, and 12 is not unheard of 😉
