Verizon has finally gotten their act together, announcing that the HTC Incredible 2 will launch on April 28th. The Android 2.2 handset will be available for $199.99 with a qualifying 2 year contract which requires a $29.99 monthly data plan.
As we all know, the HTC DROID Incredible is practically identical to the HTC DROID Incredible S which launched in Europe this spring. The only difference between the two handsets is the dual CDMA and GSM radio chipset in the DROID Incredible 2 which allows the handset to operate on Verizon’s CDMA network in addition to GSM networks in over 200 countries (definitely a bonus for business travelers and those of us who make our way across the globe on a regular basis).
Some of the specs highlights for the Verizon DROID Incredible S include a 4-inch (800 x 480) display, 1 GHz second generation Qualcomm processor, 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and a front-facing 1.3 megapixel shooter for video calling or those indulgent self portraits all those young people seem to love.
