HTC may not be working on an official HTC Sense 3.0 build for the HTC Desire HD or any of their older phones, but the geniuses over at XDA-Developers have been able to transform the HTC Sensation system dump into a functional ROM. We use the term “functional” very loosely here since there are quite a few issues that need to be sorted out before it’s ready to be used on a daily basis. The RCMixHD Pyramid v0.1 ROM is still in the Alpha stages as the camera, camcorder, widget, and sound problems still need to be sorted out. But the main issue revolves around the qHD (960 x 540) resolution of the ROM on the Desire HD’s WVGA (800 x 480) display.
Due to the resolution discrepancy, anyone who flashes the ROM is not able to view the entire screen as widgets, icons, and even the launcher get pushed off the edge. Developers will need to work some magic or maybe be forces to resize all the graphics in the Rosie launcher in order to have HTC Sense 3.0 fully operational on the HTC Desire HD or any other phone that this Rom gets ported to.
Check out the video below to get a quick look at what HTC Sense 3.0 currently looks like on the HTC Desire HD.

I hope this comes to tthe G2 and Desire Z are well. Once the fix the resolution issue I’m sure the other problems will be taken care of pretty quickly.
This sounds great, I didn’t know that Android 3 for Smartphone has been finished allready. I hope it will come to my Samsung Galaxy S, too!
It’s not official, this is a hacked ROM, ported to the Desire HD
