The Verizon HTC Thunderbolt still has no official release date, but you can download the official Verizon HTC Thunderbolt Device Showcase app from the Android Market. The app is intended to be used by Verizon stores to load up on the Thunderbolt once their demo units arrive to showcase some of the many features included on their first LTE enabled handset. According to the Android Market, the app requires Android 2.2 and up and is 1.3 MB in size.
The first time you open up the application you are prompted to download seven video files which are saves to your handset’s memory card.
Since the app was uploaded to the Android Market by Verizon, we’re hoping an official launch announcement for the HTC Thunderbolt is imminent. Some are speculating that Verizon could launch the device this weekend, but we don’t think Verizon would roll out the Thunderbolt within announcing the handset’s price and a few days before launch.
