Commercials for the HTC Thunderbolt have been running on TV for quite some time, but you’ll find it very hard to come up with a launch date for Verizon’s first LTE enabled smartphone. Back in early February, Best Buy announced that they would be Verizon’s exclusive retails partner for the HTC Thunderbolt at launch and now Best Buy’s weekly ad has revealed the HTC Thunderbolt price. The LTE enabled HTC Thunderbolt will be prices at $299.99 with a new two year contract or an astonishing $749.99 for anyone not eligible for an upgrade.
We know LTE is much quicker than AT&T’s HSPA+ 4G network which powers the HTC Inspire 4G or event Sprint’s dedicated 4G WiMax network that the HTC EVO 4F is running on, but we find it pretty hard to justify the enormous price gap between these phones based on 4G speeds alone.
How many of you would actually be willing to buy the HTC Thunderbolt at $299?
