We might miss the fact that the US market is getting phone’s delivered with the NoDo update pre installed, but when the HTC HD7 get;s a AT&T make over, you have to be impressed. What’s really interesting here though, is Microsoft’s [MS] focus on the US market. When Windows Phone 7 was released world wide, there was no expectation of any sort of fragmentation, compared to the Android OS and it’s different versions.
Maybe the slow rollout of the OS and devices in the US was purposeful in MS’s strategy, to gain back some leverage in the mobile market. The real assault on the US market for Windows Phone started with the Arrive, and continues with the HD7S, and somehow broadcasts, the initial market that MS will gauge the success of it’s new mobile platform on.
I suppose the wealth of stats that are reported on the IT market come out of America, and with these new high end, supposedly, devices, hitting the major CDMA carriers in the US, we should see a stat upgrade for WP7. Will it be realistic, probably not.
