In a presentation to investors, HTC revealed that they expect to Q1 revenues to reach $3.2 billion as the expected numbers of shipped handsets should reach 8.5 million units. While big numbers are always impressive to the public, investors are probably a bit more eager about the 29.5 percent profit margin.
As the number four smartphone maker on the planet, HTC still sees incredible opportunity to grow even though the growth of the smartphone segment is expected to slow to 8.4 percent in 2011 from 13 percent in 2010.
While HTC closed out 2010 with net profits reaching $1.89 billion (up 75% over 2009), HTC should be able to easily surpass those numbers if they are planning to increase their shipments by 300% in 2011. 2010 was the first year that has really shined in the consumer marketplace. The general public is finally aware of the brand, hopefully bringing in long-time brand loyalists into HTC’s camp.
