Porting Android builds that have been extracted from the SDK is nothing new. But what happens when you export Android 3.0 (intended to be targeted directly at tablets or handsets with extremely high resolutions) from the SDK and port it to Verizon’s HTC DROID Incredible? Not much at all. Due to the handset’s screen resolution, Android 3.0 reverts back to a more traditional smartphone UI. For now, there’s really not much that can be done with Android 3.0 on a phone, though it looks like there’s some great progress in getting the SDK port fully operational on a NOOKcolor.
If developers can get an SDK extract of Honeycomb to run on the DROID Incredible, we’re pretty confident that they will be able to bring a full port of Android 3.0 to the HTC Flyer (which is expected to launch with Android 2.3).
Seems fake to me…
I got the SDK booting on my Nexus One and :
Launcher2 FC android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #17: Error inflating class com.android.launcher2.CellLayout
Seems the CellLayout is not added in the preview sdk
lockscreen do revert to 800×400 hence the weird output…
check out those screenshots taken from my Nexus One running the SDK preview :
