First Windows Phone 7 update coming really soon?

Via Pocketnow, it seems that an article has popped up on Microsoft’s support site titled “Troubleshooting problems during software update for Windows Phone 7”. This gives us hope that the much talked about first update for WP7 could be right around the corner.

A new article over on Pocketnow points out that a new Microsoft support page titled “Troubleshooting problems during software update for Windows Phone 7” is now LIVE. This should give us hope that the much talked about first update for WP7 could be right around the corner.

It looks like Microsoft is preparing for potential issues that might arise during the update process (which needs to be done through either Zune for Windows or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac). Reading the support article, it outlines a number of troubleshooting methods and a method for restoring the operating system back to the pre-update state (I’m presuming that this update might change a few APIs that could affect 3rd party applications).

Knowing Microsoft, they usually release support articles a few days before a given application (or update in this case) is slated to roll out. I, for one, am keeping my fingers crossed.

As a side note, it hasn’t been discussed much (that I have seen, at least) about if the update can or can not be applied to HD2s masquerading around as HD7s. As soon as the update is launched, I’ll put it to the test and report my results.

It has been the number one requested feature (one would think that it would have been in the operating system from day one). Well, the time has come for us to finally have copy and paste functionality, or has it?
