While we’re on the subject of Windows Phone 7, we thought we’d let you know about a new Android Launcher replacement which replicates the WP7 tile experience. If you want to get a feel for what Windows Phone 7 has to offer, head on over to the Android Market and search for “Windows Phone Android.” The Launcher app gives you a pretty basic windows Phone 7 experience, but the developer is promising a lot more features. Some of the current features include: 256 tiles (apps) on the Start screen, uninstall apps directly from the apps screen, switch themes: dark or light, switch accent colors, and limited system notifications near the top of the screen.
Though Windows Phone Android looks a lot like the UI from Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, it lacks all the refinement which makes it enjoyable to use. The developer is promising near features will improve functionality and feel, hopefully bringing it a lot closer to the real thing. We’d suggest downloading the app just so that you can keep an eye on the development progress over the next few months. You never know, Windows Phone Android may turn into the perfect solution for those who want the feel of Windows Phone 7 without giving up the freedom of Android
Upcoming Features:
- Live tiles
- Hubs
- Replacement apps (to simulate WP7)
- Movable tiles
- Support for more system notifications
