HTC expecting shipments of 60 million handsets in 2011, 300% higher than 2010

HTC’s growth over the past two years has been staggering, but according to a recent report, 2011 is going to be bigger than you could ever imagine.  For 2010, HTC is expecting total handset shipments to reach 20 million units, but those numbers pale in comparison to the 60 million units (300% increase) that HTC is expecting to ship during 2011.  This information was revealed to over 100 of HTC’s top component suppliers along with HTC roadmap for next year.

Over the past two years, HTC has come out of its shell, heavily promoting their own brand as adoption of their Android handsets has rocketed through the roof.  HTC has not indicated what their strategy will be for 2011, but we’ll definitely see a lot more Windows Phone 7 and Android powered handsets hitting store shelves in 2011 than we did this year.

There are some rumors floating, indicating that HTC may be ready to get their feet wet in the tablet segment.  Even if the rumors do come to fruition, we’re expecting the majority of HTC’s expected growth to come from sales on Windows Phone 7 and Android handsets.

Note: if you you have actually seen the HTC 2011 roadmap, we’d definitely be intrested in talking to you (off the record of course).
