Retailers know that the last weekend before Christmas is the second business shopping weekend of the year. In order to make a few extra sales before the holidays, T-mobile has just slashed the price of the myTouch 3G from $149 to only $99. This makes the myTouch 3G the cheapest Android handset on T-Mobile and matches the price of the Verizon DROID Eris. If you match up the specs of the Eris and the myTouch, things are pretty even. However, the DROID Eris does offer HTC Sense and will be getting an upgrade to android 2.1 in Q1 of 2010. I’ve never been a fan of jumping ship just to get a good deal on a new phone. So if you’re already on T-Mobile, the myTouch should be your best bet for an Android handset.
UPDATE: We were just informed that the $99 price will only be available for this weekend! If you’re thinking about getting this handset you better make up your mind real quick!
