We all know that the Android OS is capable of pretty much anything. The only problem is that so far it has only been used on phones and a handful of tablets. Personally, I believe that tables have the real potential to show off what Android is really capable of since they have a much larger screen and faster processors. The image you see above is a concept tablet called the HTC Evolve. The conceptual design is by Timur Pinar, an industrial designer from Turkey and unfortunately has nothing really to do with HTC.
At the moment, HTC’s stance is that they are not working on any MID to table devices. But we’ve all heard that classic denial before. It typically comes a few months right before a big launch. I’m not saying that HTC is working on a top secret android powered tablet, but I’m sure they could make one if they really wanted to. We all remember the HTC Shift. To my knowledge it was the only UMPC to ever boot both Windows XP and Windows Mobile. Just imagine the possibility of dual booting MID with Android and Chrome OS.
Timur Pinar’s HTC Evolve features quite a few farfetched specs, but most internal components are plausible. I’m sure with CES right around the corner, we’ll be seeing quite a few new Android powered tablets pop up on the web. I have my doubts though that any of them will be from HTC.
