Rooted, unlocked HTC Magic named as new Google ADP2

A few of you might recall that Google release the HTC Dream as the ADP1 quite a while back. It’s been more than a year since Android hit the streets, so it’s only appropriate that Google put out a new phone to take advantage of all the cool new things that the Android 2.0 platform has to offer. Or note. Google has just release the new ADP2, the Google ION, or the same old HTC Magic we have all had for months already. Don’t get me wrong, the Magic is an incredible handset. The problem is that the hardware is a bit dated and Google didn’t even try to load on Android 2.0 on to it. Instead, the ADP2 will be shipping with Android 1.6 which should hold developers over for about a minute or so. Fortunately, anyone can purchase the ADP2 which is selling for $399.99. If you’re in the market for a new Android phone to play around with, the ADP2 might be a smart choice since it is carrier unlocked and has root access. The $399.99 price tag matched what you’d pay at T-Mobile for a new myTouch 3G if you chose not to sign a new contract. Not a bad deal at all. Plus, your ADP2 would standout a little more in a crowd since you’ll most likely be the only one with a black and blue HTC Magic in your hand.

  1. This is false information. This device has no root access via adb. I wish you would delete this posting.
