The Verizon HTC Imagio is finally official. This morning, Verizon Wireless issues a press release with details on the new HTC handset, including price and availability. The new Verizon HTC Imagio will be the first Verizon smartphone in their lineup to support V Cast TV, thus the reason for the little kickstand on the back of the handset. Key features of the Verizon HTC Imagio include a 3.6” resistive WVGA touch screen, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A 800/1900 MHz, Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 + 2100 HSPA, 1500 mAh battery, 5.0 megapixel camera, and a 3.5-mm audio jack. As you might have expected, the Imagio will be running on Windows Mobile 6.5 and will have HTC TouchFLO 3D.
You’ll be able to order the Verizon HTC Imagio starting on October 6 for $199.99 after $100 MIR from their website, but will have to wait until the 20th of October to find the handset in their retail locations. The HTC Imagio will be available online at www.verizonwireless.com beginning Oct. 6 and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores beginning Oct. 20 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will receive the mail-in rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted. Monthly access package for V CAST Mobile TV is $15 per month.
