Vodafone UK prepping to launch HTC Tattoo with Android 1.6

Vodafine HTC Tattoo Android 1.6
If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on a cheap Android powered phone, Vodafone should have you covered. Vodafone UK is planning on releasing the HTC Tattoo sometime in October. The HTC Tattoo will be the second Android phone on Vodafone’s network. Many Android enthusiasts have criticized the Tattoo since it has a smaller 2.8" resistive touch screen as opposed to the 3.2" capacitive screens that HTC has used on their other three Android handsets. But just because the Tattoo has a smaller screen, don’t write it off quite yet. The HTC Tattoo will be wrapped in HTC’s Sense UI (the same one we’ve seen the on the HTC Hero) and will features FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, ROM: 512 MB, RAM: 256 MB, 3.2MP camera, and will only weigh 113 grams. And before I forget, the Vodafone HTC Tattoo will be the first Android phone to ship with Android 1.6 (mmm… Donuts).

If you didn’t already know, the HTC Tattoo will be sporting interchangeable casing (faceplates, backplates, the whole nine yards) It looks like the Vodafone Tattoo will be a drab dark gray, but make sure you check some of the additional color options after the jump.
