Earlier this morning, a rumor started circulating about the Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 price point. Sprint is currently selling the phone for $349.99 after instant savings and a MIR. This is the exact same price T-Mobile has been selling the handset for since August. The only problem is that Verizon is offering the exact same CDMA version that Sprint has, but only for $199.99. The rumor from this morning indicated that Sprint was going to match Verizon’s price for the Pro2 and offer it for $199.99 as well, but it turns out that the rumor is only half true. Apparently Sprint does have plans to slash the phone’s price starting tomorrow, however the $199.99 price point for the Pro2 will only be available for corporate customers with 100+ lines of service.
Starting tomorrow, the price drop for HTC TouchPro2 from Sprint is only available to corporate liable customers with 100+ lines. All other channels will sell at original price $349.99 with a two-year service agreement and after $100 mail-in rebate.
Corporate discounts are nothing new. I used mine a while back for purchase a refurbished HTC Touch Pro for the incredible price of nada. I’m a bit surprised that T-Mobile and Sprint are staying true to that $349.99 price point. I guess customers are still willing to shell out a chunk of change just to save the hassle of changing carriers.
