T-Mobile’s ad campaign for the last month has been centered around their "Mobile Makeover" spots with Catherine Zeta-Jones. For a while it seems as if T-Mobile forgot that they launched a shiny new Android phone called the myTouch 3G. There’s finally a commercial that’s hitting the media waves this week that highlights the HTC made myTouch 3G as the only phone that can be "100% you".
I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of the myTouch 3G name or its new commercial. The spot features Phil Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jessie James with a T-Mobile myTouch 3G that changes as they hand it off between each other. The ad is disappointing because it does not talk about any of the features that the phone has to offer or even mention that it’s running on Google new Android OS. Verizon is pushing feature phones that have 10 app and highlighting the benefits you get by buying the phone. There are over 6,000 apps on the Android market to choose from. Don’t you think that would be a selling point of the myTouch 3G?
